Nanshan Scenic Spot

The Nanshan Scenic Spot consists of two major parts: the Religious and Historical Culture Park and the Chinese Historical Culture Park. In January 2011, it was granted the title of National 5A Scenic Spot. Historically known as Lu Mountain, Nanshan has long been praised as “the Best Mountain in Ancient Donglai County.” It is nestled in the mountains and faces the sea, and features scenic views, agreeable climate and convenient transportation. The natural and cultural landscapes here complement each other, outlining a picturesque scene of “longevity like the southern mountains.”

The Religious and Historical Culture Park features a number of historical sites and figures, such as the ancient Mount Lu, Zhaoqing Temple and Monk Huiri, as well as numerous Buddhist cultural resources, including the Nanshan Buddha, the Nanshan Pharmacist Jade Buddha, the Donghai Avalokitesvara, the Nanshan Zen Temple, the Avatamsaka World, and the Xiangshui Nunnery, and is dedicated to actively promoting the Buddhist Sinicization in the new era.
Measuring 38.66 meters in height and 380 tons in weight, the Nanshan Buddha is the largest tin bronze seated Buddha in the world. It brings peace and good fortune to all those who come to visit.
Measuring 13.66 meters in height and 660 tons in weight, the Nanshan Pharmacist Jade Buddha is the largest indoor jade Buddha in the world. It is carved from Burmese jade and is believed to safeguard the people by warding off disasters and extending life, as well as increasing both fortune and longevity.

Nanshan International Golf Club

Nanshan International Golf Club has multiple courses, including Nanshan International Golf Club, Danling Golf Club, Foguang Golf Club, Qingdao Linghai Golf Club, and Riverside Oaks Golf Resort in Australia. The CGA Nanshan International Training Center is the training base for the Chinese National Golf Team as well as the official training base for golf in China authorized by the General Administration of Sport of China. CGA Yantai Nanshan Golf School is the first professional golf school certified by the China Golf Association, which is the first formal and authoritative golf school in China that features the combination of sports and education. It has trained several national team members, such as Li Haotong, Shi Yuting, and Luo Xuewen.

Nanshan International Ski Resort

Nestled against the Gulu Mountains and facing the Riyue Lake on the west, Shandong Nanshan International Ski Resort has a total length of over 3,000 meters for the Phase I project and over 1,200 meters for the Phase II project, totalling an area of approximately 220,000 square meters. There are seven ski runs for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers, and a snow play area of about 20,000 square meters, so that the needs of skiers of different levels can be satisfied.
