Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals Industry
Established in 2013, the Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals Industry comprises five sub-institutes specialized in aluminum alloy sheet forming technology, aluminum alloy extrusion forming technology, forging forming technology, green development of electrolytic aluminum, and high-performance fine alumina. It is mainly engaged in technological development, development of technological standards, development of new products, development of material application technology, quality improvement, foreign scientific and technological service, scientific and technological cooperation, transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial incubation related to the rolling, extrusion, and forging of non-ferrous metals. It is committed to comprehensively improving product quality, achieving breakthroughs in the technical bottlenecks that restrict the development of non-ferrous metals in such fields as lightweight automobiles, rail transit, and aviation in China, breaking the foreign monopoly of high-end non-ferrous metals, and satisfying the demand of China's national economic development.
Textile New Material Industry Research Institute
Relying on Nanshan Fashion, Yulong Petrochemical, and Yantai Nanshan University, the Textile New Material Industry Research Institute has gradually established three R&D centers on new fiber materials, new textile fabric technologies, and new textile and garment technologies. It is dedicated to developing a first-class international textile new materials research institute with distinctive characteristics.
Yantai Nanshan University Research Institute
In March 2020, Nanshan Holdings established the Yantai Nanshan University Research Institute. As an applied research institute, it focuses on industrial R&D needs and aims to integrate innovative resources of Nanshan, thus comprehensively promoting industrial technology development and application research. It consists of seven industrial innovation research institutes, namely, the Aluminum Industry Innovation Research Institute, the Textile Industry Innovation Research Institute, the Petrochemical Industry Innovation Research Institute, the Healthcare Industry Innovation Research Institute, the AI Industry Innovation Research Institute, the Culture and Tourism Industry Innovation Research Institute, and the Future (Interdisciplinary) Industry Innovation Research Institute.
